Meet Michael "Sean" Connolly: Owner & Visionary of MSC Construction, LLC. As the owner of MSC Construction, LLC, Michael "Sean" Connolly brings over three decades of unparalleled experience and a hands-on approach to every project. A licensed South Carolina Residential Builder and General Contractor, Sean's career is built on a foundation of integrity, quality, and a deep understanding of the construction industry from the ground up. A native Charlestonian, Sean dedicated over 30 years to serving the Lowcountry, becoming well-versed and in good standing with the Charleston Historic Preservation Society and Board of Architectural Review. His commitment to excellence is underscored by a robust list of certifications, including EPA Lead Supervisor, EPA Universal Technician, Hydrostop Certified, Swing Stage Safety Certified, and Certified SC Safe Home inspector and contractor. His qualifications extend to being cleared as a government contractor, reflecting a high level of trust and capability. Sean's craftsmanship motto speaks volumes about his dedication: "Timelines and deadlines are very important, however we will not sacrifice quality to meet them. If we do exceed a timeline, short-term disappointments will be rewarded with long-term satisfaction on a job well done." This philosophy is rooted in a career marked by distinction, including receiving the "Best of $25,000 or under Bathroom Remodels" Prism Award in 2003 and having one of MSC Construction's completed luxury bathroom remodels featured in the Charleston Home + Design magazine. What truly sets Sean apart is his journey from a service technician to a leadership role. This "jack of all trades" experience provides him with a unique, bottom-up problem-solving perspective. He leads with actual experience rather than just "positional leadership," enabling him to skillfully employ the right tradesmen and technicians for every service MSC Construction provides. Four years ago, Sean, along with his wife of over 30 years, relocated to the Upstate area of Pickens, SC. Family is central to Sean's life; he is a proud father of five daughters and a doting grandfather to 11 (and counting!). He attributes his successes to the Lord and cherishes his highest earthly honor: "World's Greatest Dad," awarded in June of 2011. This profound commitment to his family mirrors his unwavering dedication to integrity and quality in his professional life. Each morning, Sean wakes up energized by the opportunity to provide excellent service. As a hands-on owner, he provides leadership, expert knowledge, and rigorous quality control throughout every step of each project. TJ Williams
Project Manager and Service Technician
TJ Williams is a dedicated Project Manager and Service Technician with MSC Construction, bringing a strong foundation of hands-on expertise and a deep commitment to excellence. Hailing from the scenic Table Rock area of Upstate South Carolina, TJ embodies the spirit of hard work and community that defines the region. Before joining MSC Construction, TJ honed his skills as a Crew Leader in insulation installation and gained valuable experience collaborating with both professionals and homeowners on diverse home remodeling projects. He thrives on seeing a project come to fruition, particularly enjoying the challenges of integrating new additions seamlessly into existing structures. For TJ, the most invaluable lessons learned in construction are the importance of time management and a strong work ethic – principles he applies daily at MSC. At MSC Construction, TJ's primary responsibility is ensuring every task, no matter its scale, is completed to the highest standard. He deeply appreciates the varied projects MSC undertakes, which continuously expand his knowledge base, and values working for a faith-based company. He is particularly proud of the ongoing renovations on his own ancestral home, a testament to his passion for building and preserving legacy. Outside of work, TJ is an avid outdoors enthusiast, cherishing time spent with family and friends. His favorite tools are his hands, or "anything that makes the job easier and more efficient." If he had a superpower, it would be to snap his fingers and make things happen – a reflection of his drive for efficiency. A true fan of a good steak and the classic show "Rifleman," TJ's ultimate bucket list item is to visit Alaska. For TJ, the most valuable advice he ever received was "getting Saved," which led him to dedicate his life to Jesus Christ, guiding his approach to work and life.
